Where has the Resident Evil 4 Remake we’ve been waiting for years gone?
Has the Chainsaw Project been cancelled?
Most gamers agree with me that Resident Evil 4 or as it is called in Japan and Asia “Biohazard 4” is one of the greatest works of the talented Japanese director Shinji Mikami, and one of the games that the GameCube is famous for, and this makes us look forward to the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
It has been 15 years since the release of the fourth part of the series, which was released in January of 2005, then in October of the same year on the PlayStation 2. The memory of the players, from the cinematic scenes, the wonderful story and the elaborate music suits the game.
The success of the game prompted the main game developer, Capocom, to release several different versions later on other consoles, and on the personal computer that works in high resolution than the previous versions, which is HD.
After the release of Resident Evil 3 Remake, rumors and leaks started talking about a fourth part remake game under development, but Capcom has not officially shared any details or hints about these rumors to this day.
Industry insider and famous leaker Dusk Golem is one of the main sources that fueled rumors of work on the development of Resident Evil 4 Remake, who previously confirmed that the game has been in development since 2018 and is codenamed “Chainsaw Project.”
The leaker confirmed through a series of tweets that the developer is fully aware of the criticism leveled at Resident Evil 3 Remake for being short and linear, and therefore Capcom is trying to make the fourth part more open than the previous one.
Another report was released by Fanbyte in a previous week, confirming that work on the development of Resident Evil 2 Remake has begun. It is supposed to be unveiled in the first half of this year 2022.
Other rumors and reports have talked about the supposed Resident Evil 4 Remake, as more than one source confirmed that there will be very exciting changes that will include, for example, reproducing a lot of events to become at night, and not during the day, as is the case in the original game.
Some events and the story of the game will also be modified in order to link them to the events of Resident Evil Village or the eighth part, as some call it, which is the latest part of the series, and the expansion of story events and characters, where the developer wants to create a more frightening experience than the original Resident Evil 4 game.
In any case, and despite the disappearance of its rumors about the news of the game, we were and are still very assured of the release of a remake of the fourth part, and although there is no official date for its announcement, the game is on its way to be announced, and this is confirmed by the amazing numbers achieved by the copies of the remake of the part. The second and third, where it would be crazy to abandon this project.
