Take Two comments on the possibility of its cooperation with FIFA
You can imagine what FIFA would be like with Take Two
After the announcement of the separation of FIFA from EA, licenses for the football game became available for purchase or cooperation with any other party. Will Take Two be able to obtain them?
Yesterday, Take Two presented the results of its financial third quarter during a meeting with investors, where, of course, its director, Strauss Zelnick, was present, who talked about many issues such as the mechanism and plan to support the game Red Dead Redemption 2 and others.
Zelnick, in turn, commented on the possibility of his company collaborating with FIFA in order to own the licenses for the title owned by the federation, as it is an opportunity to further expand in the field of sports in his company, here is what he said during an interview he gave to IGN this morning:
We are certainly interested in expanding our opportunities in the sport, FIFA has a great brand and incredible influence but we have no current plans to discuss.
With Zelnick’s statement, we conclude that the company is not currently interested in acquiring FIFA licenses, while at the same time leaving the door open to more speculation in the future, as Take Two is one of the few companies that can deal with these licenses and afford them , and offset the cost of the players pockets.
It is noteworthy that EA announced several days ago that the game FIFA 23 will be the last titles to be published under the license of the International Football Association, and after that the name of its game will become EA Sports FC, and this means its continued interest in the field of sports.
In your opinion, who is the most appropriate company to obtain these licenses through cooperation with the FIFA after the withdrawal of EA?
