PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sales | S and Switch until April 30
It’s been more than a year and a half since the PlayStation 5 home consoles and Xbox Series were released on the global market, and the Nintendo Switch released in 2017 still has its best sales yet.
As always, vgchartz shares new data on sales of PlayStation 5 home consoles and Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, and past-generation consoles PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo 3DS as of April 30.
In the table below, the approximate total of console sales during the years 2019 until April 30, 2022, and as you can see, the Nintendo Switch still maintains the lead in console sales, while the PlayStation managed to sell more than 3.5 million copies during 2021, in contrast, Xbox sold consoles. Series over 1.7 million copies during the same period.
While the year 2022 until April witnessed a slight outperformance of the Xbox Series, with a difference of almost 150,000 units, while the consoles of the last generation witnessed a sharp decline in the number of their sales.

In any case, these numbers remain just estimates that depend on many variables, but at the same time they are the most accurate source for tracking home console sales, the latter still suffering from global supply problems that affected their availability in the market.
