Overwatch 2 mods revealed after beta
Existing support heroes may receive new and improved abilities
Blizzard has revealed a number of changes planned for Overwatch 2 after the game’s first week of technical beta.
In the first of a series of planned weekly updates, the studio has identified a number of points and tweaks it got from player feedback during the first trial period.
Most of the champions in the game are generally in a healthy range in line with play rate and win rate across different skill levels, but several things have been identified that will be targeted in the balance improvement slated for later this week.
We’ve clearly heard that support players feel that both tanks and damage players have more new content to enjoy and explore in this beta. In the long run, we believe the most effective way to address this issue is to add exciting new support heroes to the game, and that’s part of our plans.
Blizzard said that existing support heroes may receive new and improved abilities later during this beta test, but that they will likely be implemented in the game’s next test.
The current beta version of Overwatch 2 will run until May 17, and will be available on PC only, while the company confirmed that it plans to add home devices in the future testing phase.
The demo includes access to 5v5 competitive gameplay, the new Push mode, the Ping system, four remastered heroes Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion and Sombra, one new hero, Sojourn, all Overwatch 1 maps and four new maps are Circuit Royal, Midtown, Toronto and Rome.
Overwatch 2 has been postponed to next year 2023 after it was scheduled to release sometime this year.
