Activision admits: Call of Duty: Vanguard failed to live up to our expectations
As Activision prepares to reveal the next installment in the Call of Duty series, the company today revealed that Call of Duty: Vanguard did not live up to expectations.
In a statement, Activision explained that the shooter did not meet expectations, attributing the reason primarily to their implementation team. Noting that he failed to provide as much innovation in the game as they wanted, and the statement also indicated that choosing the time period for the game’s events did not help in its success.
The game’s setting in World War II has not resonated with some of our community.
However, the publisher has indicated that the recently revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will address both of those issues.
Call of Duty: Vanguard was released on all new and previous home platforms as well as PC in November of 2021.
