It ran through RPCS3 emulator with difficulty..

Hideo Kojima struggled to get Metal Gear Solid 4 to run in the best possible quality on the PlayStation 3 but eventually succumbed to the hardware limitations and CPU complexity. Today, thanks to the RPCS3 emulator, the game has been able to reach what its developers wanted and more.

Sony is struggling with the challenges of playing PlayStation 3 games on its current device, yet there is still an opportunity to achieve the impossible and make the games of the device really playable on the current generation. The Digital Foundry team would love to see if this is really difficult by using the RPCS3 emulator.

The team was able to run Metal Gear Solid 4 on the emulator, through a PC, at 4K resolution, 60 frames and 16 times better clarity than any previous attempt to run the game on any other platform or cloud service.

It is noteworthy that the video review of the game on the PlayStation 3 was working with high accuracy, and the team confirmed that the review was not using a PlayStation 3 device, but through the use of a powerful personal computer in 2005, and this is the last time we saw the bug with high clarity.

With the emulator, things were tough but well worth all the effort. RPCS3 emulates the SPUs on the CPU and the more SPU the developer used in any given game the greater the burden in emulating the game at original speeds not to mention the performance multiplier with which it seeks to reach 60 frames per game. Second, here is a clear comparison of the difference in accuracy between playing the game on the emulator and playing it on the PlayStation 3 below.
